Nordic Thingy 91 with Ignion Virtual Antenna

Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona, March 24, 2022 – Ignion has joined the Nordic Partner Program as a design and solution partner. The aim of this joint action is to provide Ignion’s and Nordic’s customers with help bringing wireless products to market faster.

Ignion antenna partnership with Nordic ensures reliability and reduces the risk of any RF design, providing high performance in a small design with optimized power consumption in the RF chain, while enabling a long battery lifetime of IoT devices. Cellular IoT antennas have never been this easy due to this next generation of Ignion’s SMD antennas with unpreceded flexibility and level of integration.

Design and Solution Partner Ignion’s ‘Virtual Antenna®’ technology is already deployed in more than 30 million devices worldwide including the Nordic Thingy:91 cellular IoT prototyping platform. The small multi-band multiprotocol SMD antenna provides customers developing with the Nordic Thingy:91 or nRF9160 System-in-Package (SiP) the ability to bring their cellular IoT designs to market faster with robust long-range, extended battery life, and in a compact size, even if they have no previous RF or antenna design expertise.

To get a head start, developers take advantage of Ignion’s free Antenna Intelligence Cloud service. Within 24 hours, users receive an antenna design customized for their device along with a simulation report including antenna efficiency graphs, easy tuning guidance, and design recommendations for optimal RF performance. The use of Virtual Antenna® technology shortens the development process and Ignion guides the users through the antenna system design, integration, and testing phase, avoiding design mistakes delaying product certification and time-to-market.

“Designing IoT products with cellular connectivity used to be challenging, but by leveraging Virtual Antenna technology from the start developers ensure reliable high RF performance,” says Johan Pedersen, Senior Director of Business Development, Ignion. “The partnership between Ignion and Nordic lowers the barrier to robust RF by providing powerful and easy to use development tools allowing customers to get their IoT design right on day one without being RF experts.”

Ignion and Murata partner to enable the best cloud IoT design experience

17 3 月 2022 News

Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona, March 17, 2022 – Ignion and Murata partner to offer the IoT makers the best experience by using the right electronics components in the IoT design journey.

Murata has contributed to the evolution of electronics in the past 20 years and now they join the latest antenna revolution by being a product partner of Ignion’s revolutionary Antenna Intelligence Cloud. The new online service offers the designer an antenna cloud computing and artificial intelligence service by enabling IoT developers to integrate Virtual Antenna® correctly and quickly into their own products. To ensure optimal results, Ignion’s Antenna Intelligence Cloud uses high Q and tight tolerance components by Murata which enable a more reliable and predictable antenna integration process and optimal RF performance of any IoT device, whilst reducing development cost and time to market.

Based on years of experience and thousands of designs executed, the Antenna Intelligence Cloud core uses machine learning, and the resulting simulated performance is very close to what can be achieved with a real-world end-device.

“This Murata partnership allows us to provide an accurate and predictable Virtual Antenna® design that IoT makers can easily replicate and implement in their hardware designs, eliminating delays in the design phase” said Jaap Groot, CEO at Ignion.

“We are excited to see our technology contribute to the antenna revolution that Ignion is driving,” said Takayuki Kaneko, Strategic Marketing, Product Marketing Unit of Murata. “This partnership proves that we can provide the IoT industry with the tools needed to enhance the development and manufacture of the necessary devices, enabling them to create much closer approximations to early-stage simulations.”

With the fast and radical changes in how RF systems are designed, the Antenna Intelligence Cloud is uniquely positioned to become the new platform that fuels innovation and versatility of any IoT end product. The Antenna Intelligence Cloud uses state-of-the-art simulation with machine learning and removes the need to initiate the development on physical hardware. Especially as every design is unique, and since there are continuous new needs due to 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, LoRaWAN, or UWB, and often devices that contain multiple radios, there is an existing need for accurate and reliable design support for the IoT ecosystem.

Ignion stands in solidarity with Ukraine

01 3 月 2022 News

“The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.” Norman Schwarzkopf

Ignion joins the global community in speaking with one voice and a clear message: This war against #Ukraine must end. All governments should unite, take a unified stance to repel this attack against the violation of international law and the values of humanity. We urge Russia to stop its war. As so many, we feel shocked in the face of this blatant violation of international law and values of humanity as we are watching with dismay the further escalation of events and we must remain united and strong, to support each other and our universal values.
We have the highest respect for all who confront aggression. We have the highest respect for the many people demonstrating against this war worldwide, some even under personal danger. Our thoughts and our solidarity are with the innocent people of Ukraine.
