26 5 月 2021 News

Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona, May 26, 2021 – Ignion has announced the smallest Virtual Antenna® ever at the Wi-Fi World Congress. Today’s NANO mXTEND™ antenna announcement further strengths Ignion’s Wi-Fi strategy to cover all possible Wi-Fi standards now and in the future.

With a size of only 3 x 2 x 0,8 mm, the NANO mXTEND™ is ideal for miniature Wi-Fi devices that require a reliable and repetitive antenna solution. “The NANO mXTEND™ is the smallest off-the-shelf antenna for Wi-Fi with a customizable performance.” remarked Dan Klaeren, Ignion’s General Manager Americas at the Wi-Fi World congress. He presented the tiny new antenna today showing the flexibility of the solution, its ultra-small size, standard nature, customizable performance, and its dual mounting system enabling either corner or edge placement on the printed circuit board.

The number of Wi-Fi connected devices is exponentially growing while the Wi-Fi community continues to produce standards, such as Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, that incorporate new spectrums, improved signaling efficiency, lower latency, and reduced power consumption, along with many other objectives. Antennas play a crucial role and Ignion has presented today how the innovative Virtual Antenna® technology can help the designer deliver any Wi-Fi device design faster, easier and with a competitive advantage built-in regardless of the size, communication standard or configuration.

Any possible antenna configuration can be achieved with a total of 3 Virtual Antenna® standard products that cover all the possible Wi-Fi standards and challenges. From multiband configurations to MIMO designs, Ignion’s Virtual Antenna® technology will improve the design process by focusing on the antenna from the get-go to ensure a more predictable and simpler journey. The result is shorter design cycles with reduced costs, faster times to production, and the ultimate market success for the customer.

The new NANO mXTEND™ will be available worldwide through our distributor network on June 21.

The number of Wi-Fi connected devices and bandwidth consumption continues to skyrocket. This is pressuring manufacturers to rapidly bring to market new devices that are not only feature-rich but at a lower cost and before the competition. At the same time, the Wi-Fi community is producing standards, such as Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, that incorporate new spectrums, improved signaling efficiency, lower latency, and reduced power consumption, along with many other objectives. It’s time to look at the antenna technology with a new lens as well. After all, a connected device is only as good as its connectivity.

Antennas play a crucial role in RF and, at times, are taken for granted. While a consumer might mistakenly associate an antenna with signal strength. Antennas are crucial to RF performance and poor RF performance will impact everything from the battery life of a consumer device to the overall performance of an access point serving many devices.

Dan Klaeren, Ignion’s General Manager in America, will share with the audience what he has learned and how the innovative Virtual Antenna™ technology can help the designer deliver the next Wi-Fi device design faster, easier and with a competitive advantage built-in regardless of the size, communication standard or configuration.
