Thingy:91 with integrated Virtual Antenna®, the new technical whitepaper by Fractus Antennas and Nordic Semiconductor
FRACTUS ANTENNAS and Nordic Semiconductor have published a new whitepaper to show how Virtual Antenna® technology enables a worldwide wireless connection both cellular and GPS to the multi-sensor cellular IoT prototyping platform Thingy:91 in a ready to use 50 mm x 50 mm miniature package.
The whitepaper “Virtual Antenna Provides Mobile and GPS Connection in the Thingy:91 Cellular IoT Module” is ready for the public via Everything RF magazine and contains the technical features that explain the integrated antenna solution of this IoT prototyping platform. The Thingy:91 integrates Virtual Antenna® technology through the TRIO mXTEND™ chip antenna component, using one embedded antenna component for both cellular and GNSS while providing worldwide connectivity from 700 MHz up to 2200 MHz.
The spirit of the Thingy:91 with integrated Virtual Antenna® is allowing IoT platform designers to get a whole design without the need to build the hardware from the beginning, therefore, the time saving and cost saving accelerates time to market and makes easy the rapid IoT platform development.
