EVENT POSTPONED. Embedding Virtual Antenna™ in IoT devices with CST Microwave Studio

09 3 月 2020 Events

FRACTUS ANTENNAS participates this week at the 3D Experience Conference: Design, Modeling and Simulation by Dassault Systemes and hosted by Principia.

Any attendee to the conference can assist to the session where Dr. Jaume Anguera, NN’s CTO, will explain how to use CST Microwave Studio to embed Virtual Antenna in IoT devices (11 March, 13:00h, Barcelona).

Two days of conference and seminars will give the attendees an approach to design and simulation with different tools in an ideal design atmosphere. By joining Jaume Anguera to the session “Embedding Virtual Antenna™ in IoT Devices with CST Microwave Studio” the designer will discover how to use CST Microwave Studio toembed a chip antenna booster into any IoT platform.

Registration is open

Date: Wednesday, 11 March

Location: Hotel Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower (Hesperia Barcelona Tower), Barcelona

Time: 13:00h

About FRACTUS ANTENNAS

Barcelona-based Fractus Antennas SL designs, manufactures and commercializes miniature, off-the-shelf antennas for IoT, mobile connectivity, and short-range wireless devices. Founded as an independent antenna product business in 2015, Fractus Antennas was born out of the main Fractus operation and combines a respected R&D team with proven manufacturing capabilities and scale to bring to market a new generation of antenna products to meet the mobile and wireless connectivity needs of OEMs.

About CST Microwave Studio

CST Studio Suite® is a high-performance 3D EM analysis software package for designing, analyzing and optimizing electromagnetic (EM) components and systems. Electromagnetic field solvers for applications across the EM spectrum are contained within a single user interface in CST Studio Suite. The solvers can be coupled to perform hybrid simulations, giving engineers the flexibility to analyze whole systems made up of multiple components in an efficient and straightforward way. Co-design with other SIMULIA products allows EM simulation to be integrated into the design flow and drives the development process from the earliest stages.

High-efficiency tiny bluetooth antenna with no clearance

05 3 月 2020 News

FRACTUS ANTENNAS has published a new application note to show how the DUO mXTEND™ antenna booster enables high-efficiency Bluetooth connection: DUO mXTEND™: Miniature and high-efficiency Bluetooth antenna“.

Small devices as smartwatches or smart meters have a lack of space, therefore, DUO mXTEND™ (NN03-320) is a tiny chip component ideal to be embedded into any small printed circuit board. This antenna booster, as it is only 7.0 mm x 3.0 mm x 2.0 mm and even more, it does not need any clearance beyond its footprint, like other traditional Bluetooth antennas.

This antenna booster has been designed for providing a top-quality Bluetooth operation, regardless of the antenna position on the device, either if the mounting of the component is at a corner of the PCB or just at the centre edge of the printed circuit board.

With more than a 70% average efficiency this miniature antenna allows the designer to reduce the size of the PCB as much as possible without losing performance, and the zero clearance beyond the antenna area leaves extra space to embed other elements nearby.
